ഇനി നഗരവാസികൾ ഉണരാൻ 66  ദിവസമെടുക്കും , അതായത് ജനുവരി അവസാനം വരെ കാത്തിരിക്കേണ്ടിവരും 

 ആർട്ടിക് സർക്കിളിന്റെ വടക്ക് ഭാഗത്തായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ചെറിയ പട്ടണം അതിന്റെ ഇരുണ്ട ഘട്ടത്തിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശിച്ചു. സംഭവത്തെ ധ്രുവ രാത്രി എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു. ഭൂമിയുടെ അച്ചുതണ്ടിന്റെ ചരിവ് കാരണം ശൈത്യകാലത്താണ് ഈ പ്രതിഭാസം നടക്കുന്നത
